Durban Premier Skills proves a success

The training camp endorsed by SAFA and hosted by the British Council SA and the AmaZulu Community Trust proved an astounding success as 54 coaches and 18 referees earned their Phase 1 Qualification for their dedication.
Training was conducted at the Moses Mabhida Stadium’s state of the art facilities which were divided over intense practical and theoretical classes from 25 March – 1 April 2017.
Premier Skills Head Coach, Graham Robinson congratulated the recipients and challenged them to go on to implement their acquired skills to their communities and respective football clubs.
“We have to thank SAFA for making it all possible for the communities to be able to benefit, and also thank AmaZulu for the being wonderful hosts as well at the British Council,” said Robinson.
Over 1100 coaches and referees have been trained countrywide through the programme which ropes in the English Premiership’s capable community coaches together to provide their expertise in uplifting football development at grass root level.
On Saturday about 50 children from Newlands East got a chance to be part of the action as part of the closing practical the coaches had to deliver. For
mer AmaZulu Head Coach and current SAFA Technical Advisor, Neil Tovey attended the opening phase of the programme accompanied by SAFA KZN instructors.
